Ormonde & Saranne @ Trianon April 1st 2012

For reasons I won’t bore all of you with I’ve been absent from the gig scene for a couple of months, so that was part of the reason why I was looking forward very much to finally seeing some live music again and dusting off my camera to do some photography there.

Another reason for making it to the Trianon café on the 1st of April, was that fellow File Under contributor André Kuijpers promised me this was going to be something special. And he wasn’t joking, as Anna-Lynne Williams and Robert Gomez, a.k.a. Ormonde delivered a breathtaking performance…

Both Anna-Lynne (with for instance Trespassers William and Lotte Kestner) and Robert  (who played with, amongst others, John Grant and Norah Jones and also performs under his own name) have quite a lenghty musical history behind them. But after getting to know eachother’s music when they both made a contribution to a John Grant album, they’ve decided to work together as a duo.

Ormonde’s debut album ‘Machine’ should be out in May… Make sure to check it out, as it’s going to be brilliant!

Opening act for Ormonde was Saranne, a local singersongwriter from Nijmegen. Proving there’s a lot of talent in this region.

Two full photo galleries after the break…

Enjoy the photos!
