Some nights are just not meant to be, at least in a photographic sense and Wild Flag’s gig at the Melkweg was one of them…
The gig was highly anticipated by myself, as I’m a longtime fan of Sleater-Kinney and this was my first time ever chance of seeing two former members of this band, flanked by two other women who have also earned their place in the indie music hall of fame (if there would be such a thing), but I just wish they hadn’t played in the dark most of the time… I could have fired photos away like a madman, hoping to catch one of the moments when there was some more light, but I decided not to do so and to enjoy the gig instead…
Ah well, at least that’s exactly what I managed to do… A lot actually and Wild Flag are now one of my fav bands! As a bonus the opening act was a positive surprise too, with a cute drummer to boot: The Bent Moustache…
